Gencal™, is set to provide a ready-to-use ultra-low chlorate water biocidal solution for growers and processors in the UK and Ireland’s food industry. Formulated in order to comply with EU BPR regulations, which were introduced in June 2020, and the imminent EU regulation of Chlorate MRL. Developed by Genco Water, Gencal™ is certified for use in crop irrigation and food processing operations.

Gencal™ is formulated with stabilised calcium hypochlorite solution for use in the irrigation of salad, herbs, vegetables and soft fruit, produce washing and processing. Delivered directly to sites with a fully managed service by Genco Water, Gencal™ is an easy to use solution, which enables food growers and producers to maintain their operations compliant with industry requirements. It is estimated that up to 75 per cent of food production and processing firms have yet to take action to ensure that their operations meet the regulations for BPR & chlorate MRLs in food production and processing.
